Computer Desk
I loved building this desk for a customer. This desk is solid oak with every visible piece being solid oak with the exception of the back board of the hutch which is a sheet of 3/4" oak ply that was trimmed out. The desk turned out beautiful. The 4 cabinets on the hutch have adjustable shelving that are not pictured. The desk is 5' wide, 29" wide and stands 5' tall with the hutch. The hutch and desk are two separate peices that bolt together. There are 3 total drawers with one smaller drawer hidden behind cabinet door on desk. The desk was designed to house a desk top pc with the cpu hidden away in the lower cabinet door. The construction utilizes primarily solid oak for the desk and hutch, poplar for the drawers and 3/8" luan ply for drawer bottoms of the drawers. The drawer pull handles and cabinet door handles are solid oak and cutom built using a router and dado blade. The desk and hutch utilizes dado joints and has been screwed and glewed. The material cost for this project exceeded $700.00. This project was finished with golden oak and hand rubbed with a teac oil finish.
